Goal 1 Eco-morphodynamic evolution of Babitonga Bay
Application of remote sensing methodologies for coastal bay management. Mapping and analyzing land cover in coastal bays is crucial for coastal management. The BaySqueeze project aims to investigate whether the balance between human activities (urban growth and agricultural activities) and the natural dynamics of the local ecosystem (e.g. mangrove area) is evolving in a sustainable way. This approach can be implemented in any other bay in Brazil or worldwide and is therefore an important contribution of the BaySqueeze project with the case study of the Babitonga Bay.
